Hey there, OTBT wanderers!
Earlier this fall, we spotlighted the top five biggest trends in women’s fall boots, and one of the styles that we absolutely cannot get enough of this season is the ever-popular combat boot. Once associated with goth, punk and grunge fashion circles, this '90s trend made its first 21st century reappearance on French runways in 2014, and has since become a staple in the closet of every fashionista. And they’re not going away anytime soon.
It’s easy to see why combat boots quickly came back into vogue. They’re comfortable, durable, and – let’s face it – just plain cool. And with their thick treads, durable construction and utilitarian vibe, they’re the ultimate choice for any off the beaten track wanderer.
Aside from comfort and durability, another great thing about the combat boot is its versatility. These boots can go with more outfits than you think, and depending on how you wear them, can either totally transform your look or be the perfect finishing touch to an already stylish ensemble.
Want that edgy, moto-chic vibe? Get yourself a pair of black combat boots and style them with bold band tees, leather jackets and destroyed dark denim jeans. Fancy something a bit dressier? They make a surprisingly sweet addition to the dress and stocking combo. Dare to mix and match pieces and discover just how many different ways you can wear your combat boots. The possibilities are endless.
Each fall and winter season, we at OTBT showcase a new take on the classic combat boot. And as much as we don’t like to play favorites with our styles, we have to admit – the Brentsville, part of our OTBT Vintage collection, is truly one of our top picks! Available in Black, Cement, and striking metallic Gold, the Brentsville is the quintessential mid-shaft, lace-up combat boot, with a leather upper, sturdy sole, cozy interior, and adjustable side buckle to ensure a comfortable, wearable fit. But best of all, this style has a secret surprise! Fold the collar down and sport a chic leopard-print patterned design that adds a fun bit of femininity to this bold, utilitarian style.
We've styled this OTBT classic in two different ways. Our first look (pictured above) is a cute, semi-dressy outfit featuring a floral, criss-cross top, light-colored split knee jeans and the Brentsville in Cement. This cool, mint-toned boot is the ultimate choice for a more feminine look like this one. The second look (pictured below) is much more casual and cozy. We kept the same split-knee jeans, but replaced the top with a comfy, cold-shoulder sweater to give it more of a casual, fall vibe. The look is completed with our classic Brentsville boots in Black.
