This fall we’re all about comfort, but that doesn’t just mean we’re just laying around in our pajamas. While urged to stay home over the last few months we have become accustomed to the comfort our sweats and slippers bring. Now that we are finally getting back out into the world doesn't mean you need to ditch that comfort for the sake of fashion. Why have one when you can have both? Here are five styling tips to keep you trendy, yet cozy during our fall season.
Just because we're getting back out in the world doesn’t mean we need to give up our sweats entirely. Quarantine has brought us the rise of the loungewear set and we couldn’t be more here for it. Not only is it acceptable to wear your sweats in public now, it’s chic. This season grab a trendy, matching loungewear or sweat set and hit the town. This look is perfect for everyday activities like going to class or running errands. Pair that set with ultra light, comfortable walking sneakers like Courier and conquer your day while staying warm and cozy. This is such a go-to fall outfit and is guaranteed to become your favorite. This trend will elevate your style while also making it easier to get out of bed and choose and outfit in the morning.
Within the last few months, face masks have become a paramount part of our day to day wardrobe. They’re not going anywhere, so why not have fun with it? Get playful this season and try matching your face mask to your shoes for a pop of color or print! Hybrid in animal print is the perfect shoe to match with your mask given the variety of prints to choose from. Style your shoes and mask with a neutral active wear set for the day and you’ll be turning heads wherever you go. If you’re looking to take this look into the night then try pairing Wander in leopard with a leopard print mask and style with tailored, wide leg trousers for a chic night on the town.
This fall natural, earth tones are going to be huge. This is one of the longest-lasting trends for the past few seasons, and it isn’t going anywhere. We’re very excited for this trend as the opportunities are endless and it is a timeless option for anyone’s closet. Try your hand at a monochromatic look and be free to try different tones. Layer on a cozy, sandy colored sweater with a tailored blazer and trousers of the same tone for an effortlessly chic outfit. Add a perfect finishing touch by pairing this outfit with cozy cold weather boots like Defend for a super warm and comfy look that seems right off the runway.
As colder weather approaches so does the trench coat trend. I find this one of the season’s best trends that looks good with just about any outfit. This fall, try layering a trench coat over your outfit for any kind of activity. Want to stay warm and cozy during the day then try pairing a neutral colored trench with a hoodie and leggings for errands. Going out at night? Shake things up and try a bright, playful colored trench with a sweater and trousers. Rather than go for traditional shades, try your hand at something loud, like blue or red. Find a hue that best suits your skin tone and rock it. Pops of color brighten everyone’s day and will elevate your wardrobe instantly. This season, stay cozy while also standing out amongst the crowd.
Fluffy fabrics are working this fall. As you know we like to stay cozy during the colder seasons and shearling fabrics are how we do it. Jackets, sweaters and shoes made of fluffy, cozy fabrics are a great way to feel like you’re still in your pajamas, even when you’re walking around town. Wayside in tan are the perfect shoes to make you feel like you’re still in your slippers and a great way to take sandals with you through the fall. Pair a faux shearling jacket and leggings with Wayside in tan for a slow, cozy Sunday morning grabbing coffee or brunch.
Here are some great tips on how to stay comfortable while embracing this season’s hottest trends. Remember, just because it’s fashionable doesn’t mean it can’t be comfortable!
